History while in the forces
29 Mar 1917: joined the 2nd Birmingham City Battalion in September 1914. Went to France March 1916. Wounded in the head the following June and invalided home. He is now at Budbrooke Barracks, Warwick where he has been for some months. He is doing Clerical work there, and is registered under Category C3Apr 1917: released from the Army. Transferred to Aston Street branch
