History while in the forces
Was in the Surrey Yeomanry for at least a year before the War. Was mobilised at the outbreak of hostilities and has been with his Unit to many training centres in England. Cavalry not being required in France, he has remained in this country.Dec 1915: promoted to Corporal
Oct 1916: underwent course of musketry and physical drill instruction with a view to himself becoming an instructor.
