History while in the forces
Feb 1917: joined 4th Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. stationed in Oxford some months, sent to Northampton, then Newcastle-on-Tyne, then Essex, next Weston-super-Mare transferred to 10th Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry now at Bedford. Made Lance Corporal in 191401 Feb 1917: 16th Platoon, D Company, 216th Brigade, Foxhall Heath Camp, Ipswich
20 Jul 1917: Transferred to A Company, 2/1st Wiltshire Yeomanry, Rectory Camp, Wivenhoe, Nr. Colchester. In transfer became private again. Went with Regiment to Portabello Barracks, Dublin
Jul 1918: France -
Nov 1918: Wounded in thigh - 1/5th Northern General Hospital, Q. Ward, Leicester
