History while in the forces
15 Feb 1917: enlisted 7th Sept 1914. Spent 2 months training at Riby near Grimsby and 6 months at Doncaster. Embarked for France 15th April 1915. Held trenches for 3 months at Fleurbaix, then moved to Ypres. Stayed 6 months at Ypres on extreme left of British line. Spent 6 months on working parties and went on to Somme opposite Thiepval. Recommended for Commission and left France 21st December 1916. Arrived Cambridge 6th Feb 1917.- Surname
