History while in the forces
Originally joined 10th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment in Sep 1914. After 12 months or so training went out with British Expeditionary Force to Egypt for some months then to France where he has been up to Dec last. Now at Rhyl training for Officer in Cadet Battalion. Now gazetted 2nd Lieutenant 3rd East Yorkshire Regiment and drafted out to France in June 1917. Returned to England in Feb 1918 suffering from Trench fever. Returned to camp at Hornsea for training in May and where he still is.- Surname
