20 Nov 1915: attested26 May 1916: joined 26th Battalion Royal Fusiliers (Bankers Battalion). This Battalion afterwards became the 31st Battalion and still later was known as the 107th Training Reserves Battalion
01 Jan 1917: went to Salonika as transfer to Royal Irish Regiment. Later went to the 5th Battalion of that Regiment
15 Jun 1917: promoted to Acting Lance Corporal (Unpaid)
23 Mar 1918: sent to Officer Cadet Battalion at Imperial School of Instruction, Zeitoun, Egypt
15 Jun 1918: gazetted to Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment and posted to the 1st Battalion, the Royal Irish Regiment
30 Sep 1918: reached that Battalion in the line and has been with that Battalion in Egypt ever since
