04 Sep 1914: joined as Private in 7th Battalion Hampshire Regiment obtained a Commission in the 6th Battalion Dorset Regiment. Sent to Egypt and invalided home suffering from heart disease at present at Penarth20 Aug 1917: the reports that Medical Board have placed him on retired list on a salary of £100 per annum until 01 Dec 1917 when he is to be again examined by Medical Board
Jun 1918-31 Jul 1919: appointed "Cost" Clerk at HM Dockyard, Pembroke Dock
18 Aug 1919: re-joined Bank at Tewksbury and still in receipt of Pension for disablement for heart trouble and shell shock
