21 Aug 1917: arrived in France 01 Aug 1917 transferred to 1/8th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment
07 May 1918: was taken prisoner by Germans on 25 Apr 1918 escaped and wounded same day. Now in hospital at Liverpool.
11 Jul 1918: Recovered from wound and re-joined 5th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment at Rugeley Camp, Staffordshire.
01 Mar 1919: demobilised and returned to Bank
