07 May 1918: was taken prisoner by Germans on 25 Apr 1918 escaped and wounded same day. Now in hospital at Liverpool.
11 Jul 1918: Recovered from wound and re-joined 5th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment at Rugeley Camp, Staffordshire.
