History while in the forces
Feb 1917: joined 5th Dragoon Guards transferred to Royal Welsh Fusiliers Private, promoted Sergeant. Instructor at Bettisfield proceeded to France. Badly wounded, in hospital in Manchester and Bolton for five months, now re-joined at BettisfieldDec 1918: transferred to High Wycombe, took course of instruction at Woolwich, now Sergeant Instructor at Cadet School in Brighton
