14 Jul 1916: wounded at Mametz Wood, taken to hospital at Rouen for 3 days
20 Jul: landed at Southampton, sent to 1st Battalion Western General Hospital at Fazakerley, remained there 10 days, afterwards at the Tower VAD [Voluntary Aid Detachment?] Hospital, Rainhill
Feb 1917: at Cheshire Regiment Depot at Chester awaiting discharge
