22 Feb 1917: joined up on 15 Feb 1917 and sent following day to training camp at Southend-on-Sea17 May 1918: have today heard that he was taken prisoner in the recent German Offence whilst fighting with East Sussex Regiment. We understand that he is at Lubeck
