History while in the forces
Aug 1914: mobilized with rank of Bombardier in Royal Jersey ArtillerySep 1914: volunteered for active service and enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery on 2nd Oct 1914
04 Nov 1914: joined 3rd A Reserve Brigade Royal Field Artillery and given rank of Bombardier and was promoted to Corporal (from 4th Nov) and served as Instructor in that Unit until June 1915
Jun 1915: joined Brigade Headquarters of 60th Brigade Royal Field Artillery XIth Division and sailed for Dardanelles 4 July 1915
May 1916: obtained a Commission Royal Regiment of Artillery and after a course of gunnery at Cairo sent to the Salonika Army joining the 28th (regular) division in September 1916 and has since qualified as a Signalling Officer.
