03 Feb 1914: was first under fire in the German Naval raid on Hartlepool. He was subsequently sent to France where he was in several engagements and was wounded about the end of November last and is now in hospital at Northiam, Sussex18 Apr 1918: was again sent to France about a year ago and has since been in several engagements and was again wounded on the 10th instant
