Apr 1916: started training at Gosport, afterwards at Pembroke Docks, Shoreham, and Aldershot
Oct 1916: went to France with British Expeditionary Force as Trainee Signaller, Royal Garrison Artillery
Jun 1917: moved to Headquarters of 18th Corps Headquarters as Clerk
Jul 1918: invalided home being sent to hospital at Newcastle
Sep 1918: sent convalescent hospital at Darlington. Discharged from Hospital and ordered to rejoin at Headquarters but again taken ill and sent to Lancaster Hospital
Jan 1919: moved to Manchester for specialist treatment
26 Feb 1919: died at Manchester Hospital
