CONTINUED04 Aug 1917: reached Alexandria and sent up line to 2nd Battalion at Sheikh Euran
Nov 1917: took part in Beersheba, Sheria, Gaza and Jerusalem
27 Dec 1917: severely wounded in left leg in Jerusalem and had it amputated
02 Jan 1918: reached Alexandria Hospital, thence by boat through Mediterranean to Marseilles across France to England
06 Sep 1918: fitted up with false leg at Roehampton
25 Oct 1918: finally discharged
