History while in the forces
01 Feb 1917: commenced training in Oct 1914 and remained in Sutton Coldfield Park Camp for nearly 12 months. He obtained a Commission and went to Codford, Salisbury for a time. He then went to France and after a time was sent home in July 1916 with Trench Fever. After going to the Isle of Wight, Parkhurst, he was sent to Sutton Park to take charge of a number of convalescents. He is still there, but expects to go to France again very shortly.09 Nov 1917: made a 1st Lieutenant and sent out to France
04 Apr 1918: now in Italy
Wounded April 1918. Now in Convalescent Home at Windermere
09 Dec 1918: he is now at Larkhill Camp, Salisbury Plain
01 Mar 1919: back at the Bank, Class Z
