History while in the forces
Feb 1917: Trooper E H Hawkes. After being stationed in Oxford for some months, he went with battalion to the Curragh Camp, Ireland, and is now in Curragh Hospital suffering from appendicitis followed by double pneumoniaJul 1917: on light duty at Newbridge, Ireland. Doing clerical work at Newbridge, until transferred to Ripon, Yorkshire, where he was again examined and obtained his discharge from here
Aug 1918: commenced Bank duties again at Stourbridge
