History while in the forces
14 Feb 1917: attested. Joined the Officers' Training Corps (Leeds University). This was disbanded. Afterwards went to one of the Cadet Colleges (Lichfield). Obtained his Commission in November 1916. Was out in France within 3 weeks of that time. Was slightly wounded in the trenches. Was in England again and Leeds in the first week in December. He soon recovered after 6 weeks at home again joined his Regiment.He is now in the firing line, according to letter dated 8/8/17. Was in excellent health when here.
