History while in the forces
Joined Nov 1914 with the Cumberland and Westmorland Yeomanry. After training at Penrith he obtained a Commission in the 10th Border Regiment and was for some time at Leaford (Sussex). He then joined a Machine Gun Section at Grantham and was afterwards sent out to SalonicaJan 1918: still at Salonica
