History while in the forces
17 Feb 1917: enlisted in the Army Service Corps and subsequently obtained a Commission in the Army Ordnance Depot. Recently promoted to Lieutenant. Passed through Ordnance College, Woolwich, specialising in Ammunition. Appointed Ammunition Officer at Hilsen and subsequently Mesopotamia and India. Various duties also performed in France and Egypt on route. Invalided to England in January 1919 and released from service 15th May 1919. Re-entered the Bank's service 2nd June 1919.- Surname
