Joseph Rayson Drummond

History while in the forces

Joined Artists' Rifles some three years ago and after twelve months training, transferred to the Royal Air Force and for some time did instructional work in this country. He was sent over to France, where he had been only about 16 days when he met his death. Reported missing Sept 27th and afterwards 'killed'. It appears he was flying his machine in company with two others, when he was shot down whilst returning to his own lines.
