03 Feb 1914: joined Westmorland and Cumberland Yeomanry as a Trooper, obtained Commission as 2nd Lieutenant in 10th Battalion Border Regiment. A few months later saw service in Gallipoli, was afterwards transferred to France and promoted to the present rank at the first battle of the Somme on 2nd July 191621 Feb 1917: we are very pleased to add that Captain Bunting has now been awarded the Military Cross, attached is a newspaper cutting giving some particulars to how he earned the distinction
04 Feb 1918: died as Midhurst Sanatorium (Pneumonia following Phthisis)
