25 Nov 1916: transferred to 8th Battalion City of London (Post Office) Rifles. Promoted Lance Corporal (No 8586) unpaid
In training at Fovant and later Paignton and Farnborough. (Relinquished his Lance Corporal rank as unwell for a good time). 21/4/18 sent with staff to France. 21/9/1918 reported missing (as from Aug 22). Prisoner of War in Germany. After Armistice arrived Dover 27 Nov. Sent to Canterbury Camp
