History while in the forces
05 Feb 1917: joined the Artists Rifles on Sep 3rd 1914 as a Private. Went to France with a draft in Feb 1915. Joined the Artists Rifles Officers' Training Corps. Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant May 1915. Wounded Sep 15 then attached to the 1st Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers - five months leave in hospital etc. Went to France again. Was reported missing and wounded as from July 24 1916. There has been nothing to report since. Killed- Surname
