History while in the forces

19 Jul 1914: Lieutenant. Was in camp when war broke out doing annual training with Territorials. Sent to East Coast Yorkshire and afterwards to Lincolnshire. Went to France and on to Ypres. Came home nervous breakdown. Had appointment in York, promoted Captain. Returned to France Spring 1916. In the big push on Somme and was severely wounded in arm and shoulder. Been in hospital several months and had several operations address No. 3 London General Hospital, Wandsworth.
