Joined 26th Royal Fusiliers Battalion (Bankers Battalion). Went to Salonica Nov 1916 to the 8th Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (Pioneers). Returned England with MalariaMar 1918: in hospital at Tunbridge, Oxford and Abingdon, then went to serve in the 3rd Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry
