Jan/Apr 1916: enlisted in 1/8th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, trained at Clevedon
04 Sep 1916: sent to France. Took part in engagements at Beaumont Hamel, Thiepval and Mouquet Farm where he was wounded and subsequently invalided home
Dec 1916: now in Convalescent Home at Narborough, Norfolk
03 Sep 1917: proceeded to Command Depot, Ireland on light duties, subsequently classified C2 and transferred to Royal Army Medical Corps for home duties only
Stationed at Blackpool
16 Jan 1919: proceeded to Chiseldon for demobilization
17 Jan 1919: demobilized
23 Jan 1919: returned to Bennetts Hill branch
