Dec 1915: in training with Salisbury with London Rifle Brigade. After about six months went to the Front
Last heard from him about two months ago, when he had a narrow escape from a bursting shell whilst standing near his dug out. Before leaving for France he was transferred to the 2/22nd Battalion London Regiment
Mar 1917: now in Salonika where he has been since the end of December
Is now a Sergeant and has been given a Commission and is daily expected home in England for training but has been detained in hospital with bronchitis.
