30 Mar 1917: home on leave. Called to see us.
27 Jun 1917: received notification that he is now in France.
21 Apr 1917: 7 miles from front line, change of address. Well.
24 Oct 1917: Received letter, wounded through right shoulder. In Red Cross (Weir) Hospital, Grove Road, Balham. Informed Head Office who asked us to convey their sympathy. Mrs. Balls called, stating he is progressing favourably.
