Photograph of a general view of Macau
Previous
Photograph of Macau, looking towards the harbour
Next
Photograph of Macau, with a caption that reads: 'Macao, Northern Portion and Cemetery. This view, like the preceding one, forms a continuation of the Panorama, the northern end of the Monte St. Paula (crowned by the Monte Fort) being visible on the left. The most striking object is, however, the Cemetery of San Miguel, which was opened in 1852, and is surrounded by a solid wall. It will be observed that numerous Chinese houses occupy a large portion of this view'.
