About this collection
Midland Bank (now HSBC UK) colleagues undertook a multitude of voluntary roles on the home front during the Second World War. When they weren’t at their desks they were supporting their local communities as air raid wardens, ambulance drivers, stretcher-bearers and fire fighters. These images, taken from a scrap-book of wartime memories, show some of the volunteers in action at the Midlands Division head office, located at Strathfield House, Leamington Spa.
