About this collection

Presentation album in gift box, given to Richard Richards, Manager of the Cardiff Docks branch between 1893 and 1918. It was gifted to him on his departure from Cardiff to take up the role of Joint General Manager at head office in London. It contains photographs of the branch, Mr Richards, and his colleagues and former colleagues who had worked at the Cardiff Docks branch with him. Towards the end of the album are some photographs of women. These are some of the earliest photographs we have of female staff employed by the bank.
