Photograph showing a terrace in the public garden. Floyd has labelled it as the 'Botanical Garden' with a caption that reads: 'The Lowest Terrace, Public Gardens, Looking East. The terrace above shewn is the great resort of the nurses and babyhood of the Colony, who are here to be seen almost every fine afternoon throughout the year. Great pains have been taken to provide suitable seats, while the turf and flower beds are kept in admirable order. The Gardens are naturally a favourite promenade with the ladies of the Colony'.
