About this collection

HSBC’s branch in Hankow (Wuhan), China, was caught up in the devastating Yangtze-Huai River floods of 1931. A huge number of homes were destroyed and countless people lost their lives. We donated $5,000 to a National Flood Relief Commission and supplied credit advances to support relief efforts.
