Photograph of the village of Katasie, Japan
Previous
Photograph of Inosima, with a caption that reads: 'Inosima. This interesting island, which lies off Katasie, is much visited by foreigners, the channel between it and the mainland being so shallow that anyone can easily wade across. The deep blue of the surrounding waters and the brilliant hues of the vegetation of the islands which stud the Japanese coast cannot, of course, be adequately represented by photography, but so aided a very slight exercise of the imagination is sufficient to enable one to realize the beauties'.
