Photograph showing Government House, with a caption that reads: 'Government House, Hongkong. The residence of the Governor is situated on one of the most advantageous sites in the Colony, the selection of which, curiously enough, was deemed exceptionally “lucky” by the native geomancers. The building, which stands in an extensive enclosure of lawn and garden, possesses ample accommodation and was occupied by the Duke of Edinburgh, the Grand Duke Alexis of Russia, the present King of Belgium and other distinguished guests during their visits to the Colony'.
