Photograph of the bank's Downtown branch at 644-646 Broadway, on the corner of Bleeker Street. This was the address of the Manhattan Savings Institution's head office between 1855 and 1924 and the eight-storey building was erected in 1891. It continued as a branch when head office operations transferred to new premises at 154 East 86th Street in 1924. A note with the photograph suggests it finally closed in about April 1943, with accounts transferred to a branch at 754 Broadway.
