Photograph of Man Mo Temple. Floyd has labelled it as 'Joss House, Hollywood Road'. The caption reads: 'Joss House, Hollywood Road. A building which looks more imposing in photograph than in reality, the Chinese taking but little care to keep their temples neat or in repair, and thus standing in strong contrast to the Japanese. A fortune-teller generally occupies the porch of the temple, who will for a very trifling sum cast your horoscope and predict your future. The attendant priests generally look like their idols and the surroundings – greatly in want of repair. The lions on either side of the entrance would, if the temple were on Chinese territory, imply imperial endowment or special privileges'.
