Photograph taken from an upper level, overlooking the banking hall. This was taken around the time that Midland Bank acquired City Bank, and adopted the premises as their new head office in place of their former headquarters at New Street, Birmingham. Long wooden counters are lined with metal grilles and lamps. There are decorative pillars and it is possible to make out fine details of the ornate ceiling.
