HSBC Premier launched on 15 March 2000 – the first global financial service for personal customers. Account holders could carry out transactions at any branch in the world and access a range of travel and reward benefits. It was initially targeted at 18 countries and territories. Within two years it spanned 30 countries and boasted over half a million customers. HSBC Global View, an online platform, was added to the service in 2007 allowing clients to see all their accounts consolidated in one place. Vibrant new branding was also introduced at that time. A further relaunch in 2024 strengthened the proposition for over 4 million Premier customers, with a wide range of products, services and partnerships across 4 pillars: Health, Wealth, Travel and International.
