Leo announces the opening of a branch in Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon. For many decades, customers in Hong Kong had relied on HSBC’s head office in Central. A second office, a sub-agency, opened in 1929 inside the prestigious Peninsula Hotel. That was followed by the bank’s first full-sized branch in Mong Kok in 1948. This paved the way for an extensive network that would gather pace in the following decades.

All aboard with Leo as he heads to Bonham Road for the opening of a new branch in HSBC’s Hong Kong network. The road was named after Hong Kong’s third Governor Sir George Bonham, and runs through the Mid-Levels.
