About this collection

Hong Kong began its transformation into a major industrial centre in the 1950s. HSBC played an important role in supporting the growing number of factories and businesses. We established a liberal lending policy and expanded our branch network. The Ngau Tau Kok office opened on 18 March 1968, one of several new branches offering retail and commercial banking in the district. These photographs document its opening day.
